Mother’s Day Gift Guide

Mother's Day 2015Happy Friday!

Since Mother’s Day is only about a week away and I’m still trying to figure out what to get my mom I thought I would post a gift guide to help others who might be stumped like me.  Last year for Mother’s day we took my parents to Ponzi Vineyards for brunch which was amazing & the views were beautiful.

I have an awesome relationship with my Mom so I always try to make sure she feels extra loved and appreciated on Mother’s Day, but this year feels a little different since I consider this my first Mother’s Day as a mom!  Baby Phillips might not be here yet but I’ve been carrying her around & taking care of  her for 7 months at this point, which in my opinion already makes me a Mom.

Now here are my picks for Mother’s Day gifts that I think any Mom would appreciate!

Pre-Baby Getaway

Now that I’m back in Portland and the weather has gone from the high-70’s back to rain and clouds I’m really wishing I was still at Terranea Resort where I spent 3 nights with my mom for a pre-baby getaway.  Anyone who knows me knows that I’m super obsessed with Hawaii, well this place is now a close second for me.

I mean this was the view from our balcony – so beautiful!Terranea View

Weddings & Babies

Happy Spring!

Last weekend I was insanely busy with a wedding rehearsal and wedding coordination all day on Saturday.  It was an amazing spring day to get married though!  Jordan was in Seattle all weekend for lacrosse too so being busy made the weekend go by faster.  Speaking of weddings, 2 weekends ago we had another crazy busy but fun filled weekend!

Our weekend started early on Friday with the celebration of a close family friends wedding.  It was an amazing April day, especially for Oregon, and the wedding was so perfect.  I got to see so many people I haven’t seen in such a long time, and it’s the first time I had seen most of them since I’ve been pregnant.  The wedding was perfect and really sweet with the grooms sister & brother-in-law officiating.  The receptions was really fun, but we didn’t end up staying very long since I had just gotten home from Pittsburgh the night before (which included an exciting sprint through the Detroit airport to make the last flight to Portland).

Fave Styles from ShopBop | 25% off until tomorrow!

Recently I have really found myself enjoying online shopping more and more.  I guess it’s actually really more looking and wishing I could buy things for this summer and being forced to remind myself that it will not in fact fit me until sometime in September or October most likely.  Don’t get me wrong – I love some of the amazing local boutiques that we have in Portland – I’m just always a fan of a good deal and I love the variety you can find at some of the retailers.

That being said one of my favorite online retailers, ShopBop, is having a 25% off Friends & Family sale when you use code INTHEFAM (it ends tomorrow 4/7).  With the beautiful spring weather today that actually got in to the mid-70’s I have summer on my mind, so I’m sharing a few of my favorite summer off-the-shoulder dresses that I am definitely considering splurging on.  Plus some really amazing summer sandals to go with them!

What are your favorites styles your looking forward to breaking out now that the nice weather is here?!
